The CES 2014 and THE Show 2014 Show reports with 1000s of photos is forthcoming...
As usual we will try and provide a photo for every room and of every component in the rooms [although we are in the end slackers and definitely miss taking pictures of many components] but we do try to snap the coolest-looking and new components at the show.

Axpona High-end Audio Show Chicago 2013
Although we did not get to attend the show ourselves [not happy about this] we are collecting videos that have been posted on various sites [primarily youtube].

The best so far, for me, is a clip of Peter Berringer and Myles Astor wrapping up the show by talking about their favorites.

Facebook login...

Facebook login... logging in using Facebook... it wasn't actually like, you know, working.

The Ultimist front page
The Ultimist front page is the 'ultimate' high-end audio newsfeed.
It collects posts from high-end audio blogs and online magazines from around the world.
It mixes in classifieds from Ultimist and the best of eBay.
It directs your attention to the latest posts from our esteemed member's home pages.
And it washes dishes.
And it does all this about 100 times per day.
It is the easiest way we know of to keep up to date on everything that is happening in high-end audio [and there is a LOT going on these days!] .

high-end audio nomenclature
Talking about high-end audio... it can be weird sometimes Lots of weird words. Lots of words with meaning that we are not really sure we all agree on what they mean. Lot of cool ideas about sound and everyone has a hard time expressing them in English.
So.. to hopefully make it all just a wee bit easier... we added a Nomenclature category to the Answers area of Ultimist.
For example one question is What is a Soundstage? Yes. We provide an answer. But there is also room for other people to provide answers - so that we can all, together, converge on an agreed upon meaning and description.
Other questions are: What is a Bright sound? What is Imaging? What do under-driven speakers sound like? What do people ,mean by a Warm sound?
Lots of other questions and answers. And a lot more are needed!
Please feel free to add your own answers, questions or just rate them as to which ones rock and which ones suck. :-)

Silly update time....
We added an Ultimist page on Facebook, which required changing [reducing, back to '1'] how many 'likes' our Facebook Like button shows.
The number is now synced with the number of Likes on our Facebook page - so you can like us there on Facebook or here on Ultimist.
Assuming, of course, that you do, in fact, like us. :-)

We are changing the look of the front page of Ultimist.
It has largely the same information, but instead of a carousel with left and right arrows we are instead showing a list of All the Stuff That is Happening in the Audiophile Universe.
In reality, this is all the blog and magazine posts we are able to gather, all of the eBay ads over $1000, and every classified and notable thing that gets added to Ultimist.
It is like 'New Today' on steroids.
There is more work to be done. Mostly a filter so people can turn off some of the things in this list of several thousand posts, stories, classifieds, questions, answers, press releases, new products, new companies and new events.
